Terms of Use

Last updated: 12 August 2026

Narrly is a web tool that syncs Guide voice-over against a Master recording and hands you back a Multi-Track or Fast-Track WAV. By using it, you agree to the following. We've kept it short and readable on purpose. Narrly is run by James Millner and Ross Martin, both UK-based ("we"/"us").

It's free (for now), and it's provided "as is"

Narrly is free to use during early access, and there's nothing to pay. It comes with no guarantees. It does its best to line up your takes, but it won't always get everything right, so always check the output before you rely on it for anything that matters.

Your content stays yours

You keep full ownership of the audio you upload and the files Narrly produces for you. We don't claim any rights over your content, and we don't use it for anything beyond running your analysis.

You need the rights to what you upload

Only upload audio you own or have permission to use. You're responsible for making sure you have the rights to anything you put through Narrly.

If your upload lands us in trouble

Because you're the one who knows whether you have the rights to what you upload, you agree to cover us for any claim, loss, or reasonable legal cost that comes our way because of the audio you put through Narrly - for example, if someone says your upload infringed their rights. In plain terms; if your content causes a dispute, that one's on you, not us.

Fair use

Please use Narrly sensibly:

  • Only upload audio you own or have permission to use
  • Don't upload anything unlawful, and don't upload recordings containing sensitive personal details about other people, like health, religious or political content, unless you have the right to share them
  • Don't try to abuse, overload, reverse-engineer, or break the service
  • Don't point automated tools at it or hammer it with traffic

Narrly is intended for users aged 16 or over. If you break these rules we may stop the service working for you. There's no account to close, so in practice that just means we may block access.

The service might change

Narrly is a small, free tool and it's still early days, so it will change as we work on it, and there'll be times when it's down. Where we're planning something big, like retiring a feature or shutting Narrly down for good, we'll give you as much notice as we reasonably can on the site. We can't promise it'll always be available, and because it's free - we can't guarantee uptime.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Narrly and its authors aren't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the tool, including anything to do with the accuracy of results or any lost work. You use it at your own risk.

Nothing here limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't legally be limited or excluded. None of this affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Claims are between you and us

If you ever have a claim against us, you agree to bring it on your own, as an individual - not as a claimant or member in any class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. If you live somewhere whose laws don't allow this kind of waiver, then it doesn't apply to you.

Warranty

Narrly comes with no warranties of any kind, except those that can't legally be excluded.

If part of this doesn't hold up

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.

We may update these terms

We may update these terms now and then, say if we add a feature or the law changes. When we do we'll change the date at the top, and for any change that actually affects you we'll put a notice on the site. If you're not happy with a change, you can simply stop using Narrly. Carrying on using it after a change means you're happy with the new version.

Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.

Complaints and takedown

If something's gone wrong, contact hello@jamesmillner.dev and we'll come back to you as soon as we can. If you think someone has put audio through Narrly that infringes your rights, email us with the details and we'll look into it. We don't keep uploaded audio, so usually there'll be nothing left for us to remove, but we'll help however we can.
